| Boat US In a 2006 Hurricane Preparation Artical did a test on Mooring holding power. A 500lb Mushroom pulled out at 1200lbs, an 8000lb Deadweight "cement Block" pulled out at 4000lb. A Helix Mooring could not be pulled out by the tug and recorded 12,000 lbs before a shackle failed.In a 2nd test a 20,800lb pull was recorded before a line failed. We can install a Helix mooring along side your existing mooring to increase your holding power. Pioneer has installed many Helix Moorings to replace pilings for waterfront docks. It is very cost effective alternative to driving pilings and you can forget about ice damage. |
